With the decline of the family dinner has come a decline in the tradition of telling family stories, but the importance of sharing family history to children is not to be underestimated. Older members of a family (grandparents, uncles, aunts, et al) can play an integral role in improving a child’s self-esteem and sense of belonging by sharing family stories at the dinner table.
