Kale chips are our new favorite snack. Simple, quick and tasty. Full of fiber and a great way to get the little ones loving kale.
YOU NEED
2 bunches of Kale (collards work well too)
2 tablespoons olive or grape seed oil
A sprinkle of sea saltCOOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat your oven to 300º. Wash the kale, then dry it really well with a clean dish cloth or paper towels. Remove all the ribs, and tear the kale into chip sized pieces. Put them into a large bowl and massage the oil into the kale. It is important that every bit gets covered; happy kale is crispier.
Place in a single layer on oiled baking sheets (you might need 2-3 sheets). Bake for about 20-25 minutes, flipping the kale now and then with tongs. The kale will get dark green and crispy, be careful not to let it get brown. When the kale is done, sprinkle with salt and crunch away.
OPTIONAL ADDITIONS
Mix a little grated garlic into the olive oil for garlic kale chips
Toss with Japanese seaweed salt
Sprinkle with sesame seeds
